Save the Date for Finding Peace Amid the Chaos

World Suicide Prevention Day was September 10, 2016

World Suicide Prevention Day was September 10, 2016.

As part of our everyday commitment to mental health and shining a light on mental illnesses, Suncoast Mental Health Center offered its annual, World Suicide Prevention Day Symposium in partnership with Martin Health Systems at Tradition Town Hall on the 9th, then participated in the Out of the Darkness Walk activities on the 10th under the leadership of star volunteer Faiza Ahmed and her mom Naureen.

Suicide is one of the fastest growing causes of death in our country, particularly among pre-teen girls, Veterans, and middle aged males. It also is one of the most preventable.

We are here to help those with mental illnesses that may lead to suicidal thoughts and ideations. Call us at (772) 489-4726. Or contact the national hotline, 1-800-273-TALK. Text 741741 if you prefer texting.

Whatever your preferred method of contact, do reach out if you are concerned. We are saving and changing lives on the Treasure Coast and Okeechobee. You are valued.
